This section contains information on programmes co-financed by European Union funds in the Czech Republic in the period of 2004-2006.
16 programmes of support with total allocation of about CZK 80 billion within Objectives 1, 2 and 3 of European Union policy of economic and social cohesion have been implemented from EU funds during the 2004-2006 period in CR.
Operational programmes Objective 1
Operational programmes (OP) Objective 1 are financed from structural funds and they are implemented in all regions in CR except Prague because Objective 1 supports growth of regions with gross domestic product per capita below 75 % of the EU average:
Programmes Objectives 2 and 3
Programmes Objectives 2 and 3 are also financed from structural funds, but they are implemented in regions that are not covered by Objective 1, only Prague is involved in the Czech Republic:
Cohesion Fund
Cohesion Fund is designed for entire member states, not regions. The Czech Republic is among the countries that are allowed to obtain money from the Cohesion Fund because its gross national income per capita is below 90 % of the EU average.
