The programme focuses on: improving the transport accessibility and connection to the region, including modernisation of public transport means; supporting the development of tourism infrastructure and services; preparing smaller business sites and buildings; and improving living conditions in villages and in the countryside, especially through improving the quality of education, social and health care infrastructure.
How is ROP North-East financed?
ROP North-East is a regional operational programme under the Convergence objective.
€ 671.29 million has been earmarked for it from the
European Regional Development Fund.
What projects are supported by ROP North-East?
ROP North-East contains
five priority axes dividing the operational programmes into logical units, which are further materialised through
areas of intervention, which define what projects may be supported under the respective priority axis.

Who can request assistance?
Regions, municipalities, unions of municipalities, the state, organisations established or founded by regions, municipalities or the state, professional and special interest groups, providers of health care and social services, non-government non-profit organisations, entrepreneurs, and others.
The operational programme was approved by the European Commission on 3 December 2007.
