Emphasis is placed on communicating information and sharing results. Internet databases and the intranet together form both the information source and the communication system for the INTERACT II programme. The INTERACT II programme cooperates institutionally with, for example, the Committee of the Regions and the ESPON 2013 and URBACT II programmes. New projects are not executed under INTERACT II and the programme is not intended for the general public.
What are the programme objectives?
INTERACT II focuses on the following:
-
Improving effectiveness of territorial cooperation
-
Contributing to the quality of territorial cooperation and support for the implementation of the cross-border, transnational and interregional cooperation programmes
-
Providing a platform for the regions to discuss strategies for cross-border and transnational regional development and guaranteeing the transfer of innovation.
INTERACT II is divided up into priority axes, under which funding is distributed. The programme has two such priorities:
-
Development and supply of services
-
Technical assistance
What is the managing structure of the programme?
The Managing Authority is the Bratislava Self-Governing Region, where the programme Secretariat is headquartered. INTERACT II makes further use of four Contact Points for the programme: Valencia (Spain), Viborg (Denmark), Vienna (Austria) and Turku (Finland). The National Coordinator and National Contact Point is the Czech Ministry of Regional Development.
INTERACT II was approved by the European Commission on 4 December 2007.
