What types of projects can be executed under the programme?
Two types of projects are executed: information exchange (so-called Regional Initiatives - TYPE I) between stakeholders on the regional and local level in specific areas for the purpose of identifying best procedures and developing new instruments and approaches that are then introduced into practice. The second type of project is sharing of experience (so-called Fast Track - Type 2) through cooperation in networks where regions with more experience in the respective area will share their experience with regions with less experience.
The Interregional Operational Programme is common for all EU Member States, Norway and Switzerland.

How is the programme financed?
€ 321.32 million has been earmarked from the European Regional Development Fund; an additional € 83.77 million should be supplemented from the public sources of participating states. Czech public resources will provide € 0.17 million to help finance the programme. Under the programme, there is no specific financial allocation for individual countries.
Is the programme structured in any way?
The operational programme contains three priorities, which divide it up into logical units that specify what types of projects may be supported under the respective priority:
-
Innovation and knowledge economy
-
Environment and protection against risks
-
Technical assistance
The Interregional Cooperation OP was approved by the European Commission on 11 September 2007.
