Objective 3 for the Promotion of Cross-border Cooperation 2007-2013 between the Free State of Saxony and the Czech Republic (OP Saxony - Czech Republic) is intended for the Czech regions of Karlovarský, Ústecký and Liberecký and the German regions of Vogtlandkreis, Aue-Schwarzenberg, Annaberg, Mittlerer Erzgebirgskreis, Freiberg, Weißeritzkreis, Sächsische Schweiz, Bautzen, Löbau-Zittau, Zwickauer Land, Stollberg, Mittweida, Meißen, Kamenz, Niederschlesischer Oberlausitzkreis, Saale-Orla-Kreis, Greiz and the statutory cities of Zwickau, Chemnitz, Dresden, Görlitz and Hoyerswerda, and Plauen.
How is OP Saxony - Czech Republic financed?
OP Saxony - Czech Republic is a regional operational programme under the European Territorial Cooperation Objective. € 207.40 million has been earmarked from the European Regional Development Fund, which amount should be supplemented from Czech and German national public resources by an additional € 36.60 million. For the Czech side, € 67.20 million (approximately CZK 1.89 billion) have been planned to be set aside from EU Funds, which is approximately 0.25% of all resources designated for the Czech Republic from EU funds.
In the case of the cross-border cooperation operational programmes, the cross-border impact of the project is important, where both sides of the border demonstrably benefit from implementation of the project. Projects also have to include beneficiaries from both countries, who cooperate in at least two of the following ways: joint preparation, joint execution, joint utilisation of workers and joint financing.
What projects are supported by the OP Saxony - Czech Republic?
OP Saxony - Czech Republic contains four priority axes dividing the operational programme into logical units, which are further materialised through areas of intervention, which define what projects may be supported under the respective priority axis. The priorities are as follows:
-
Development of general social conditions for the territory receiving aid
-
Development of the economy and tourism
-
Improvement of nature and the environment
-
