The position of the Czech Republic towards Cohesion Policy post 2020

For a long time The Czech Republic has been striving for a stable, strong and by other member states supported Cohesion Policy, aimed both at balancing the gaps between EU regions and at eliminating internal disparities, as well as allowing for a flexible response to sudden global and EU challenges. The Czech Republic maintains cautious approach to the gradual outflow of funds to centrally and directly managed programmes at the expense of programmes based on shared management, i.e. EU Funds for Cohesion Policy. Shared management programmes more effectively reflect the needs of regions and Member States, create positive push on systematic changes related to their comprehensive development and enable to actively involve citizens in the management of the common EU space.
