Discussion about the post-2020 programming period is well into and the Czech Republic plays an active role at the national and international level. For the Member States, there is a need to tackle many new challenges that await them and the EU. The position of the Czech Republic is currently being defined in many strategic documents which are created in cooperation with the stakeholders.

Negotiations have been going on since 2016

The Czech Republic launched the debates on the future programming period in January 2016 within the V4 + 4 Ministerial Meeting in Prague. At this meeting, the Czech Republic adopted the Joint Declaration containing the key ideas of V4 + 4 countries on the future of cohesion policy. The Czech Republic also proactively negotiates with other states and representatives of EU institutions and presents its views at international cohesion events. In this way, the Czech Republic aims at influencing the discussions on the setting of cohesion policy architecture and tries to utilize the practical knowledge of the EU funds implementation gained during the previous programming periods.
