EU funds in the Czech Republic

Cohesion Policy Funds of the European Union comprise a wide range of tools that are used to promote the balanced regional development of the EU, with the emphasis on reducing social and economic disparities. The Czech Republic has been drawing from European funds since its accession to the EU in 2004. Overall, it had a chance to draw finances in three programming periods, while currently the preparation for the next one beginning after 2020 is underway. Since the CR accession to the EU, the coordinating responsibility has been held by the Ministry of Regional Development, initially as the Managing Authority of the Community Support Framework and since the programming period 2007-2013 as the National Coordination Authority.
