A key milestone will be the negotiation and future shape of the multiannual financial framework, which will determine how much money in the European Union's budget will continue to be earmarked for cohesion policy. The European Commission is responsible for the final form of the legislative package, which establishes new rules for the future period.
The National MMR Coordination Authority initiated the development and adoption of a joint declaration of 11 member countries, which identifies the basic areas and direction of cohesion policy after 2027. Sufficient allocation, shared management, simple and at the same time flexible rules are just a few of the main principles that are emphasized in the declaration adopted within the framework of the Czech V4 presidency in 2024.
