For the programming period 2014-2020 the sum of nearly 24 billion euros was allocated from the European Structural and Investment (ESI) Funds for the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic draws the finances through ten thematic programmes. More resources are available to it in European Territorial Cooperation programmes.
It is the intention of the European Union to ensure that the ESI funds contribute as much as possible to the implementation of the concept Europe 2020 – A Strategy for Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive Growth. With regard to this strategy the Partnership Agreement defined national development priorities for the programming period 2014-2020. The priorities are achieved thanks to individual programmes, which enable drawing finances from the ESI funds. They can be divided into thematic programmes, focused on specific areas, and European Territorial Cooperation programmes, the absorption of which requires cooperation across the borders of a single Member State.
The current progress of the absorption of the ESI funds finances can be found under the tab Statistics and Analyses.
